Hi, I'm Monica! My husband and I moved to Idaho in 2012 and have called it home ever since. I had my first child in Las Vegas, Nevada before moving to Sugar City, Idaho. After I had my first baby, I went back to work full time and struggled with maintaining my milk supply due to a lack of support from my workplace. I combo fed and eventually was no longer able to make milk. After that experience, I made it a goal of mine to fully breastfeed my next 4 kiddos. The next breastfeeding experiences came with plenty of struggles including tongue ties, reflux, oversupply, mastitis and lots of pain, but we worked through it the best we could and they nursed until they weaned with the exception of my last. With baby #5, I experienced severe postpartum OCD and combined with ADHD, I struggled with a variety of things that come along with that including sensory issues which led to me weaning him around 22 months instead of when he was ready.

My struggles made me passionate about helping others because I didn't want anyone to experience some of the hard things that I went through. This is what drove me to become an IBCLC. I have now had the opportunity to help thousands of families find a feeding plan and method that works well for them and I've pretty much seen it all at this point.

My passion in wanting to make sure others can find the quality care they deserve has also led me to serving as the current Chair of the board for the Idaho Breastfeeding Coalition where I get to help connect Idaho families to lactation support and provide opportunities for lactation professionals to receive quality, evidence based education.
